Whether or not our work is related to a title or paycheck, the work that we commit ourselves to takes time and energy. Additionally, this past year has caused many of us to revisit our sense of calling. For these reasons, we want to pause to reflect and gain a clear perspective on where God and meaning are in our work.
This event features Michaela O’Donnell, Executive Director of the Fuller DePree Center for Leadership and the author of her new book, Make Work Matter. During our time together, we will discuss how to:
- make sense of our work,
- find purpose in the seemingly ordinary, and
- pursue meaningful work in an ever-changing world
About Our Speakers
Magdoleen Meleka is a leader with a knack for seeing multiple solutions to complex problems. Motivated by her faith and desire to seek solutions, she has held a variety of leadership positions in the church and marketplace. Out of her own experiences and spiritual formation, she is deeply committed to offering hope to others by articulating a vision of what is not yet seen or experienced. This passion has allowed her to serve others in a variety of contexts, such as developing new programs and improving systems as a department manager, offering comfort through the ministry of presence, and mentoring students and alumni as a vocational advisor. She completed her MA in Theology and serves alongside her husband, Fr. Daniel Meleka. She is currently the director of operations for Fuller Careers and Personal Development.
Dr. Michaela O’Donnell is the Executive Director of the Max De Pree Center for Leadership where she oversees the center’s vision, strategy, program, and team, all with the goal of helping leaders like you respond faithfully to God in all seasons of your life and leadership. Michaela’s first book, Make Work Matter: Your Guide to Meaningful Work in a Changing World is due out in November with Baker Books.
