Go the Distance Cohorts

Imagine the future in order to live intentionally
as you follow God's calling today.

If you’re feeling a bit weary or need a little boost to help you persevere on your path, Go the Distance helps you re-imagine your future and take steps toward it. The research-based process underlying this six-week experience will give you a sense of renewal and equip you to enter your next season with more intentionality as you take steps to live in alignment with God’s calling.

At the heart of this cohort is our belief that Christian leaders do their best work when guided by a theologically informed vision of the future. To that end, this cohort focuses on Christian hope and equips leaders like you to run the race that God has for them. Over the course of six weeks, you will pay attention to how you SHOW UP to the race. You’ll VISUALIZE THE GOAL, WARM UP, CHECK THE TRAIL CONDITIONS, and MAKE A TRAINING PLAN. With the encouragement of your cohort members and guide, you’ll GET GOING on some action steps that will help you make progress toward a shalom-shaped future.

Go the Distance Might Be Good If:

  • + You’re feeling a bit weary.
  • + You want to recover from burnout.
  • + You’re craving renewal.
  • + You want some strategies for doubling down in the work God has called you to do.
  • + You want to live with more intentionality in your life, work, and leadership.

What's in It For You?

Six Sessions of Reflection and Conversation

Once per week for six weeks, you’ll join your cohort for a two-hour session via Zoom.

Time and Space to Process

Each session provides time and space for you to process the homework from the week before. In the sessions, we focus on listening to God, listening to one another, and listening to ourselves.

Discernment Tools

Each session includes guided exercises, large group and small group discussion, individual reflection time, Scripture engagement, spiritual practices, and homework to facilitate the work you need to do in this cohort.

Fellow Travelers

Companions are crucial to any journey. Our Go the Distance groups are intentionally small (8 participants maximum).

Testimonials

Tom England

The Go The Distance cohort was very helpful in envisioning a shalom-shaped future. It is a powerful look into how God is leading and transforming us. If you are looking for a process to look insightfully into your future, give Go The Distance a try.

Alex Staup

When I started the Go the Distance, I found myself tired, weary, and on the edge of burnout – both professionally and personally. Thanks to the intentional reflections and guided conversations as part of the cohort, I rediscovered the great passion and joy there is in taking part in God’s work. I was also given the space to dream about the future and listen for the ways God is active in the past, present, and future.

Jen Morgan

As a new Fuller student, wife, and mom of a busy teenager, I signed up for the Go the Distance cohort, because I believed it might be an encouragement for me in this challenging season. I not only got encouragement from the leaders and my fellow cohort members, but I got valuable tools to encourage myself.
